Can you save my existing tiles?
Sometimes. If the tiles are still made, in good condition, and come off cleanly, we’ll re-use them. Most jobs end up with new tiles though — old tiles often crack on lift, and replacements are usually discontinued. We’ll tell you what’s realistic on the on-site visit.
Will you have to remove the shower screen?
Yes. The screen has to come out so we can re-waterproof the hob and corners. We re-fit your existing screen if it’s in good shape, or supply a new one if it’s not. Either way it’s included in the quote.
How long will I be without a working shower?
3–5 days for a standard re-waterproof, longer if it’s a full rebuild. We give you an exact timeline in the quote. If you only have one bathroom, we plan the job to minimise the days without water.
Can I claim this on home insurance?
Sometimes — depends on your policy and how the damage was caused. Slow membrane failure is usually excluded; sudden burst damage is often covered. We can supply a written scope and photos to support your claim.
Do you handle strata or apartment showers?
Yes. We’ve done both townhouse and apartment showers across Newport and Williamstown. Strata usually needs approval and a copy of our insurance and waterproofing certification — we provide both.
What if it leaks again after the warranty?
If you’ve used Bayfix for the re-waterproof and the membrane fails within 10 years, we come back and fix it at no charge. That covers materials and labour. The warranty is in writing, in your name, and transfers if you sell.
